Women first wore eyeliner in the Bronze Age more tan 5000 years ago. They used kohl, a lead-based mixture, to make their mark. The Ancient Egyptians and Indians, wore eyeliner as a form of protection from the sun. In Egypt and Mesopotamia, kohl was often painted around the entire eye lined to create an almond-shaped. Eyeliner was not only used by women but men wore it too. By 1960's liquid eyeliner had been invented. There are many types of eyeliner invented. Theirs such as liquid, powder, wax, kohl, and even get varieties. Each type of eyeliner has will have different effects. It all depends on the once your use. Some have darker color than others, and some it makes the line thicker than others. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle and makes a precise and even stroke. Powder-based comes in the form of a pencil. Wax-based comes in a pencil form too, or in a compact with a brush applicator. Kohl can come in pencil for as well as loose or pressed powder but it is more likely to smudge. Usually eyeliner includes alcohol, colorants, dimethicone, fragrance and glycol. Eyeliner have to be categorized into film formers, thickeners and pigments. Film formers are ingredients that make it possible for the eyeliner product to deposit a layer of pigment onto the eyelids. Mascara

Mascara is a cosmetic that girls use for their eye lashes to thicken, curl, give volume and add color to them. Mascara was created around 3400-30 B.C. The Egyptians were the one who first created mascara. They blended kohl with bat poop with water and honey to create the first mascara. They would also use bones and ivory as mascara applicator. Sense there are a lot of different types of mascara, they have different ingredients mascaras usually includes carbon black or iron oxide pigment to darken lashes, a polymer to form a film that coasts lashes, a preservative, and tinkering waxes or oils like, lanolin mineral oil, paraffin, cast oil, carnauba  wax, and candelila wax. There are about two basic choices that you make when you buy your mascaras. Anhydrous formulas with no water, or emulsions of water and oil. What Do Girls Have To Say About Make Up

Today I interviewed a group of girls form ages 14-16 at "Point Loma High School" to ask them questions about their personal opinions about make up. First I interviewed freshmen and then sophomores to see if there would be any differences between their opinions do to their age. But at the end there wasn't any difference at all. But I found out that there are more girls that do wear make up, and less girls that doesn't wear make up. First question that I asked was ,Do you wear make up why or why not? Girls who answered no said, "I don't wear make up because natural beauty is better than putting all this different things in your face trying to look prettier". Another girl just answered "I just simply don't like it and I think that make up is for girls who just have no self confidence in themselves and well I do so, why putting make up on" Some one else said, "Putting make up on takes too much time".Girls who do wear make up said, "I do because I feel more confident in myself when I wear make up but I make sure I don't over use it" There were other girls who do wear make up but not all the time like the ones that answered, "Yes I do wear make up occasionally, like for parties or when I go out with my family. You don't have to put on make up to look pretty just to go to school or even to the store or even in the weekends unless you go out". Second question I asked all the girls, When you hear the word make up, what do you think about? They all gave the same amount of answers such as, models, fashion, fake people, and the one that was mention the most was beauty. Third question I asked was, Do you think make up is good, bad, or both, and why?. They all answered both. "Good because it helps those teenage girls who think they are not pretty feel better about themselves and by putting on make up and makes them have more confidence about themselves. But at the same time bad because one, is that when you are putting on make up  is like you are trying to hide the real you and it just makes you fake in a way. Second because there are many girls who just over use and instead of wearing make up to look pretty you look ugly". At the end I asked one last different question to the girls depending if they wear make up or not. So to the girls that don't wear make up I asked them. Do you see yourself wearing make up in the future? They both answered, "Yes". To the girls who do wear make up I asked them, Would you go out whether is school party or even for a walk with out make up? All of them said, "Yes, I am not obsessed with make up for me to not be able to go out in public with out having make up on.

My Opinion About Make Up

Hi my name is Janeth Mateo and I am 15 years old. My topic is about make up and I just want for teenage girls to know what is that they put on every day in there face. So,anyone who is reading this and wears make up I want to ask you one question. Do you really know whats in your make up? I personally don't wear make up at all only eye liner. For me I don't even want to wear the pressed powder. I remember once my sister Tania put the powder on me and it just felt nasty. I took it off right away but never again I have put or even tried to wear it again. I wonder if even though that I know what make up is made out of or even if I didn't know, would I wear make up at all in the future?
