Women first wore eyeliner in the Bronze Age more tan 5000 years ago. They used kohl, a lead-based mixture, to make their mark. The Ancient Egyptians and Indians, wore eyeliner as a form of protection from the sun. In Egypt and Mesopotamia, kohl was often painted around the entire eye lined to create an almond-shaped. Film formers are ingredients that make it possible for the eyeliner product to deposit a layer of pigment onto the eyelids. Mean while, thickening agents like wax, gum, and clay make it possible for the product to stick in the skin. Th pigments are the ingredients that create the actual color of the eye product.
